ALOD’S 2016 Liberty & Entrepreneurship Camp Attracts 61 Students Form 18 Nigerian Institutions

The African Liberty Organisation for Development (ALOD) in collaboration with the Language of Liberty Institute (LLI) held a liberty and entrepreneurship camp at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu. Sixty-one (61) students attended the five-day event from universities and polytechnics across Nigeria Participants were divided into three discussion groups in day 2 and were tasked with presentations on entrepreneurship vis-à-vis what was learned in camp and to defend the ideas of liberty and free market on day 4. During presentation, moderator of the discussion groups (Sarah Kawala) commended the depth of understanding showed by participants on what was taught in camp and implored them to apply all learnt in their everyday lives. Copies of the CD, Ideas for a Free Society and books, Voices form Africa; In Defence of Global Capitalism by Tom Palmer and Free Markets and Justice were given to each participant.Certificate of participation was also jointly issued by ALOD and LLI to every participant at the end of day 4. Nigeria’s musical sensation and ALOD’s musical ambassador ADOL – a libertarian himself, thrilled participants to his acts at the end of day 4 with interactive sessions afterwards. Sir Anthony Fisher was honoured ALOD Liberty Hero of our first quarter with a poem dedicate in his memory. During departure on day 5, participants expressed delight to have participated
in the program and promised to spread the words in their respective schools and communities.
